Liquid Refreshment

InterWined loves children’s birthday parties in London. At such an event last weekend, a terribly talented performer named ‘Betty Boo’ (no, not that Betty Boo) entertained the children…while we adults were provide with some liquid refreshment.

There was the Champagne, and there was some beer…but the most enjoyable moment came from sipping on the delicious and concentrated Pieropan Soave Classico 2006, made with the garganega grape, for around £9 per bottle. We drank the wine from blue plastic cups and sat in the back garden listening to Betty wear our children out.

Nice balance of minerality and fresh and zesty lemon-peel citrus. Very clean on the palate. The wine also is fleshed out with some nuttiness, similar to cashew…but not quite.

Highly recommend for Children’s parties: 9.0.

Now I’m not happy at all. I bought myself a bottle of this (hoping to be ‘converted’ to Soave) and then had to give it to some friends as an emergency present!
