I picked up on the real problem with these vitamin studies in the first sentence - "antioxidants — chemicals" and again in the last sentence of paragragh one. Yes chemicals are harmful in any form. Why do so many Americans die from FDA approved drugs every year? Because they are synthetic chemcials.

These studies are done using synthetic chemical vitamins, made in a lab. I'm still waiting for studies done using a whole food supplement with no chemcials. Still waiting for studies done on healthy people and follow the results to see if there are health benefits.

At least reports like this are stating the ingredients are chemicals. That's a start but it's sad that most people do not know the difference in a whole food supplement and a cheap drug store synthetic, isolated "vitamin pill."

You are right about the wine having powerful antioxidants that help our body. This has been proven in good fair studies.

This is true, Robin. The recent studies to extract salubrious nutrients from whole foods have also proved difficult, with one researcher recently complaining to me that the FDA is not likely to approve of his red wine/green tea pill even if he can overcome said problems.
