Liquid Refreshment

An article in Reuters claims the Brunello scrutiny is in response to claims of tainted wine in the low end of the makret. While I hope none of you would pay £2 for a bottle of Brunello… this development underlines why InterWined.com only review wines that are priced above £5. Anything cheaper, we feel, can not possibly be produced with consumer health and well being in mind.

From the Reuters article:
… 70 million litres of the adulterated wine may have been put on the market, with price tags of between 70 cents and 1 euro ($1-3) a bottle. In some cases only one fifth of the ingredients in the tainted ‘wine’ would have been grapes.
