Liquid Refreshment

Welcome to Health News Tuesday, where InterWined.com brings you the latest in health tips for everyday living. Today we have…nothing.

But that’s not to say we don’t have anything… It’s just against ethics to release the information today. And if I tell you, then the people who told me are going to be, like, “We told you not to tell them until Wednesday, WTF?”

So, health news tomorrow at 17:00 GST (or noon in New York), because that’s when I get permission. Here’s a hint though: it’s all about liquid.

But, InterWined doesn’t want to leave anyone high and dry, so…

Once the spiritual home to the South African wine industry, Paarl is still capable of turning out well-priced, decent Pinotage. The 2005 Klippenkop Pinotage is widely available, with £6.79 from Winedown proving the best online price, 20p less than what I paid at the The Sampler on Upper Street. Call me crazy, but one of the things I’d rather do in person is buy wine. It’s worth the extra cost to go to small, independent retailers for a little face-to-face time.

At any rate, there are fair amounts of blackberry and plum in this dark, bold Pinotage. There is also some tart cherry, but the wine isn’t too bright. Some cedar as well. It may be complex and it may be strong, but it’s not over-the-top. It should be opened 24 hours in advance, and then recorked, if you wish to drink it sooner than later. Otherwise, the tightness will prove a distraction. A bargain: 8.8 points.
